Drying Process

Drying is a process which alters the amount of the solid and liquid components of elements and materials. There are numerous applications requiring careful control of methods and times by acting on temperature and humidity. The air, moved by the fans, is the key element of the process and you may have gas or other suspended substances (essences, impregnating agents, stabilisers, preservatives, anti-mould agents, protective agents) added to it.
Heat exchangers (heat batteries) may be applied to the centrifugal or axial fans for temperature process control. Of course, this solution can be applied to many products after a washing or for finishing treatment. Air may be warmed, within a specific range of temperatures, to have a perfect desiccation process.

Foods for Human and Animals. One of the most interesting applications of desiccation process is the one dedicated to food production. After washing processes products will be dried. Air knife drying systems are a typical applications so drying fans are used in machines made for the food drying process for example fruit and vegetables drying and in horticultural industry.
Pasta dryer systems implement industrial centrifugal or axial fans to create the end product ready for the packaging. As well as pasta, there are many alimentary products requiring desiccation process. The aging of aliments as cheese, meat or fish make them with a finest taste and give them long life.
Industrial fans and blowers are used in the drying process to reduce the humidity level (drying facilities) for stock of cereals as a treatment against mould for silos and food storage.

Tobacco, Pharmaceutical, Chemical. Drying fans are used in tobacco processing plants where leaves are dryed before processing. By the way now the process occurs in a modern plant and it is a very precision one because it must maintain all the qualities and flavour of the original traditional process to ensure a perfect result. It originates a blend of fine quality end products.
Desiccation processes may interest healing and medical herbs to prepare potions and drugs.

Drying, Desiccation of Wood, Woodchips and Pellet. Reduce time for dessiccation of wood may be very important. It is useful for many purposes as furniture manufacturing or to use wood as a combustible product. Therefore, woodchips increase in value because of their better combustion power. A pre-treatment for wood pellets production, suitable for civil pellet stove, is also possible.

Drying of Sewage and Sludge Depuration (Sewage Sludge Drying Systems). After a treatment with centrifugal thickening system or filter press desiccation decreases the amount of sludge to be incinerated, increasing its calorific value to obtain a perfectly dried end product. Desiccation in pellet production process is used to produce organic fertilizers without humidity for easy packaging, transport and stock.
