Fume Extraction Fan

Medium-pressure centrifugal fan for the extraction of acid fumes containing H₂SO₄ and HCl.

High efficiency backward-curved blades impeller.
Arrangement 8, coupling through elastic joint.
Stainless steel AISI 316 L for wetted parts, micro-shot peened impeller.

This fan belongs to the standard series and is in special arrangement with all the parts in contact with the fluid made of stainless steel AISI 316 L, to guarantee duration in time, considering the acidity of the conveyed fluid.
The supply included other three fans, two medium pressure and one high pressure, in Heavy Duty (HD) Arrangement.
The parts in contact with the fluid have been manufactured in CORTEN steel and the fans have been insulated because of high temperatures (insulation 200 mm thick).

The fan made of AISI 316 L has been installed after a fumes washing tower in a plant for the recovery of precious metals (gold, platinum, palladium), while the fans made of CORTEN have been installed after dedusting filters, always in the same company, contributing to environmental safety. The plants work 24/24 hours, therefore we had to make the fans suitable for the heavy duty application, by modifying some details. The electric motors are part of our supply, IE3 efficiency class, powered by VFD.
