Energy efficiency ErP 2026 Directive for Fans

Energy Efficiency
ErP 2026 Directive for Fans

From 24 July 2026, the new Regulation (EU) 2024/1834 (Ecodesign for fans between 125 W and 500 kW) replace the previous Regulation (EU) No 327/2011.

Stiavelli Irio S.r.l.’s centrifugal and axial fans comply with the new regulatory standards.

LET’S CLARIFY

Supply Continuity for OEMs

Stiavelli Irio will manage the transition by making use of the flexibility provided for in Regulation (EU) 2024/1834:

Efficiency

From July 2027, we will be providing ‘Ecodesign Datasheets’. Both the maximum efficiency figure and the efficiency curves at three different speeds will be available for consultation.

Exemptions

The Directive provides that, until 24 July 2027, exemptions may be granted in specific cases. Please contact our Technical Department for further information.

Spare Parts

Spare parts for our industrial fans, which were placed on the market before 24 July 2026, will be available until 24 July 2037, to safeguard your purchase.

Applicable exemptions

Fans designed for certain specialised applications are exempt from the new Ecodesign requirements; these include the following cases:

ATEX

Potentially explosive atmospheres, classified areas in accordance with the ATEX Directive

Extreme Temperatures

Fluids > 100°C or < -40°C, or motors in environments > 60°C or < -30°C.

Material Handling

Impellers for fluids with high concentrations of solid particles (blade angles between 50° and 90°).

THE IMPORTANCE OF PERIODIC INSPECTIONS

Maintenance of Industrial Fans

In the industrial sector, centrifugal and axial fans are vital components in production processes. As they sometimes operate in harsh conditions – including high temperatures, dust and corrosive fluids – these machines are subject to natural wear and breakdown. Stiavelli Irio strongly recommends scheduling regular fan overhauls.

Service, support and maintenance are available at our headquarters.

Original spare parts

You must use only original Stiavelli Irio spare parts. Non-original or ‘aftermarket’ spare parts represent a risk: they may compromise safety and will invalidate the warranty. Only original spare parts ensure perfect compatibility.

Disposal of fan and components

Fan components must be recycled or disposed of depending on their nature and in accordance with the requirements of the legislation in force in the country of disposal.

MAIN MATERIALS

  • Painted or galvanised non-alloy steel, AISI 304/306/310/316 stainless steel, titanium, cast iron
  • Plastics, polymers, elastomers
  • Graphite
  • Mineral or synthetic-based grease
  • Glass fibre
  • Accessory materials

Disposal of packaging

It is mandatory to dispose of materials used for packaging and transport in accordance with the regulations in force in the country of disposal.

MAIN MATERIALS

  • Paper and Cardboard
  • Stretch film for wrapping
  • Adhesive tape
  • Wood (crates or pallets)

Disposal of the electric motor

Information regarding the end-of-life disposal of the electric motor can be found in the motor’s manual. Electrical and electronic components must be disposed of in accordance with the specific procedures set out in their respective manuals.

MAIN MATERIALS

  • Cables and their sheaths
  • Control and actuation devices
  • Switches and sensors
